Rick Smith

Brother Rick Smith grew up on a tobacco farm in Westfield, Stokes County, North Carolina. He graduated from East Surry High School, received his bachelors degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a masters degree from Appalachian State University, and a doctorate from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Rick was employed by Surry County Schools from 1967 until 2003 when he retired from Curriculum and Supervision. Rick was raised in Pilot Lodge No 493 in 1986 and served as Master in 1990. He served as District Deputy Grand Master of the 25th Masonic District between 2002 and 2004, as the Chairman of the Grand Lodge Committee on Masonic Education from 2005 to 2008, and as Grand Historian in 2015. Rick has been a presenter at Wilkerson College from its first class in 2002. He was the College's first Dean of Admissions, served as Curriculum Chairman, and currently serves Wilkerson College as a regent. He resides in Pilot Mountain, North Carolina
