Seventh Annual Carolina Masonic Pig Jig
www.ncmason.net/gallery/NC_Mason_Gallery/PigJig2012.htmlRALEIGH — Raleigh 500 held the Seventh Annual Carolina Masonic Pig Jig here on May 19 at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds. It was celebrated in conjunction with the Got to Be NC AgFest, our state’s off-season state fair. The Pig Jig has thousands of visitors each year and crowns the best Masonic team in several divisions of grilled delights.
More than 3,500 people ate and voted for their favorites this year. While final figures are not yet available, it is estimated that $8,000 will go to the Masonic Home for Children in Oxford and to Central Children’s Home. The two institutions have been supported by the Masons of North Carolina for many years.
All the pictures in this set are from the setup period on the night before the judging. Many Masons will tell you this is the time of the most fun and Masonic sharing. More details will be coming in the July-August issue of The North Carolina Mason.
